Autumn Color in Pennsylvania

Autumn in Pennsylvania
While we were visiting Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, we decided to drive
through the countryside to see the fall leaf colors.  Television weather people
said this weekend would produce the peak of fall colors.  They were glorious.

Many different trees and bushes contributed to the brilliant palette of colors.
Yellows, reds, and oranges were particularly vibrant.
This is a Copper Beech tree.

Some of my favorite examples this year were the small Decorative Maple Trees.
There were several different varieties with different colored leaves.  The best
were in the Germantown area of northwest Philadelphia.  This one is in a front yard.

This Decorative Maple Tree was in a yard across the street.

Firebush
This brilliantly colored bush is about five feet high, and hedges of firebush
are found all over Pennsylvania.  However, it is considered in invasive species,
and so you are not allowed to buy or plant any new examples.
But at this time of the year, they add brilliant color all over the landscape.
