On My Walk This Morning 3e

More and more flowers open each time I walk by.   These are "Heavenly White"

Angel Wing Begonias.  They grow on bushes 3-4 feet high.

"Mulberry Wine"  Orchids

Building 92 was out-of-reach for a while because the bridge was being repaired,

but when I walked by today there were lots of orchids.  These were the

"Snow Queen Orchids."

A number of orchid plants were tied to this one tree.

"Angelica" Orchids.  These three stems just started blooming.

The "Pink Infinity New Guinea Impatiens" are still covered with blossoms.

Their life expectancy is about three months.

The beds of red and white begonias are in full bloom.

A new discovery today.  The people with the potted Desert Rose have two pots

outside their patio, but while the pink one has been blooming for some time, the other

one had no flowers.  Today, it had a bunch of deep red, jewel-like

"Ruby McLaughlin Desert Roses" on it; I have never seen one with such a rich,

vibrant red color.

This building also has a number of pots with flowers, and they work well

with the stones.

"White Bird of Paradise" flower; they grow on a type of banana tree.

It is large; perhaps 15 inches long.

Today, I happened to turn my head as I walked by, and I saw some beautiful flowers,

partially hidden by larger plants.  I went back to look, and the owner came out and chatted.

He usually has seven blooming orchids, he said, but the iguanas have been bad this year

and ate five of them.

"Japanese Privet."  I had to ask the Broward County Extension for help on this one,

but they were very quick and helpful.  I take a couple of pictures and send them and

they reply with the name within hours,

"Diaphanous" Lavender Orchids

"Orange Marmalade" Vanda Orchids.  These just came into bloom in front

of the building next door.

"White Candles" are blooming prolifically in several areas.

"Golden Trumpets / Yellow Tabebuia" are in full bloom now.

The clusters of blossoms cover their trees which are 10-15 feet tall all over town.

The "Gardenia" bush two doors down has just come into bloom.

It has many blossoms and buds on it, but because they let it grow too tall,

it is difficult to see them clearly.  It is about 8 feet tall, and most of the blossoms

are on top, because gardeners trim the sides.

But it was a very colorful and diverse morning.
