On My Walk This Morning 3k

"Aechmea Mertensil" originally came from Costa Rica.

The  Pink Ti Plant originally came from Hawaii.

"White Crinum Lily."  These plants are about six feet tall and are found
all over the neighborhood.

"White Crinum Lily"

This is a beautiful deep "Red Crown of Thorns."  You can see the thorns all along
the stems.

Low-growing "Gold Lantana."  Usually the plant grows up to two or three feet
high in bushes, but this variety stays low to the ground.

"Gold Lantana"

"Myrta's Joy" Yellow Phalaenopsis Orchids

"Cranberry Bromeliad" and "Golden Lantana."
The bromeliad leaves hold water in little pools when it rains, and lizards and
other critters come and drink from it.

"Dale Rogers Orchids"

A mature six foot long iguana along the canal.  They come in light green,
dark green, black, orange, and mixed colors; they eat only grass, leaves, and
small dogs.

"Midnight Ladies" during the day.
The German lady started this plant, a kind of cactus, from one leaf which a friend
gave her.  It now has four stalks about six feet high.  During the day, the flowers
hang limply in the sunshine.  But every night, between midnight and five a.m.
they open up as below.

"Midnight Lady" blossom is about 18 inches across.  Each flower blooms for
about a week.  She had four blossoms this year.

"Rose Plumeria / Frangipani."  These come from Hawaii and are used to make leis.

"Prince of India"  Gaillardia.  These are a very colorful low growing flower.

"Cerastium / Snow in Summer."  The German lady keeps buying new colorful plants.

"Dracaena Marginata / Dragon Tree."  This is a much more attractive variety of
this very common plant down here.

"Pale Pink Plumeria / Frangipani"

"Heliconia Rostrata / False Bird of Paradise."
These plants have these very brilliant, unusual racks of flowers hanging down.

"Heliconia Rostrata / Crab's Claw."
Some of them do not have the neat racks if flowers, but instead this rather
unusual form.
